♻️ Somocap achieves 99.6% waste recovery by the end of June 2024! ♻️
At Somocap, we are committed to adopting sustainable practices and minimising our environmental impact. Here is an overview of the initiatives we are implementing to recover as much as possible of our production waste:
𝗔𝘂 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹: 99.6% of the waste generated by our production is sent to CSR (Solid Recovered Fuel) channels, thereby contributing to energy production. As for non-recoverable CIW (non-hazardous industrial waste), it is sent to the local waste collection centre (75 kg at the end of June). 🔄
𝗘𝗻 𝗱𝗲́𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 :
- 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝘀 (𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝘀): Our wooden pallets are recycled via our partner Saica Group, which transports them to a recovery plant located in the Landes region. An efficient and environmentally-friendly solution for giving this material a new lease of life. 🌳
- 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘀: All our cardboard is sorted and then sent to the local waste collection centre for recycling. A simple but essential approach to reducing our ecological footprint. 📦
- 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 : The transparent plastic films that surround our pallets are recovered by SAICA for reuse, reducing the use of new plastics. ♻️
- 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗿: All steel waste is fully recycled through collection by DECONS. This material finds a second life in new industrial production. 🏗️
These results demonstrate our ongoing commitment to responsible waste management and the promotion of the circular economy. Together, we continue to move towards a more sustainable future.
